Clara Lionel Foundation
The Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) was founded in 2012 by Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. CLF invests in climate justice and climate resilience initiatives in the Caribbean & United States and helps communities prepare for and withstand natural disasters.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to work with CLF in partnering with the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer screening efforts in under-resourced communities and encourage people to get screened—the best way to prevent breast cancer.
According to the American Cancer Society, a mammogram is by far the best method for detecting cancer in its early stages, when it is easier to treat.* So grab the girls and go get screened!
Most insurance carriers will cover cancer screenings for women who are over a certain age, have a family history of breast cancer, or have other high-risk factors. If you have health insurance, ask about coverage. Most screenings are covered or are available at no cost. If you don’t have health insurance, you can call your local health department for information, or follow the links below find a location near you:
